EMDR Therapy

What is EMDR Therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is used to treat your past (healing from your experiences), present (coping with present symptoms) and future effects of trauma (preventing re-traumatization). EMDR therapy is clinically proven to be highly effective for treating PTSD, and other effects of trauma. Upon gaining popularity as one of the safest, quickest, and most powerful therapy options available for trauma, the use of EMDR has been expanded to include treating similar symptoms that are present in depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. It is practiced internationally and has helped millions of people heal and recover. The World Health Organization and American Psychiatric Association are among many to recommend EMDR for the treatment of symptoms for PTSD.

Speed Up Healing

Trauma is believed to be caused by our brain's inability to process memories of intense and traumatic experiences. This can create a cluster of debilitating symptoms that become pervasive in one’s life. EMDR therapy is a powerful treatment method that can help accelerate your healing process and allow you to regain balance in your life. It is proven to be successful in treating adults as well as children. Alice implements variations in treatment according to age, when appropriate. If you or someone you know could benefit from EMDR, please give us a call. We welcome all questions and concerns, and will begin by scheduling you a free phone consultation with Alice.
